Simple Ways to Use Cottagecore Style at Home

If you’re a fan of the cottagecore home-style trend and want to try it yourself, there are many ways you can begin. While it might seem complicated, there are some simple decor changes you can make to your space to bring out the cottagecore aesthetic. Here are some ideas for how to use cottagecore style in your own home:

Boost Your Bedding

Cottagecore is all about comfort. This means you can easily add some of this style to your bedroom by simply adding more bedding. Fluffy blankets and plush duvets are perfect, especially when layered. Make your bed look inviting and cozy with a few throw pillows and an extra blanket draped over the corner.

Create a Reading Nook

If you don’t have the architecture for it, you can still create a cottagecore reading nook in your home. All you need is a corner or area to place a comfy vintage style chair, a small table and a bookshelf. Finish it off with a funky lamp and a throw blanket to stay warm while reading on chilly nights.

Bring Nature Inside

Flowers and plants are a key element of cottagecore design style. Display fresh flowers when possible, or opt for dried flowers for a rustic, earthy feel. Houseplants are perfect for cottagecore as well. The more lively greenery and natural elements you can bring indoors, the better.

Employ Earth Tones

While color choices vary, cottagecore usually sticks with neutral, earthy tones. Browns, greens, beige and white are all great together. Add in some pastels or a pop of your favorite vibrant color for some personal flair and to add depth. Avoid making things look too busy by coordinating patterns and textures in the same color or tone.

Consider the Kitchen

Cottagecore puts a big emphasis on the kitchen, so it’s a great place to add some style elements. Floral prints on china, mismatched dishes, copper cookware and Mason jars full of ingredients are perfect cottagecore. Add some whimsical details like an apron hanging on the wall or dish towels in your favorite colors.

These are only a few ways to bring cottagecore style into your home. Keep these ideas in mind and you’ll create a version of the style all your own.

As a Real Estate professional, I specialize in helping my clients buy, rent or sell properties in Westchester County. I am passionate, dedicated and committed to my clients and my first priority is to provide them with first class service and guidance throughout the entire process. It has been said that I go above and beyond for my clients to get the deal closed! I have experience working with clients who have financed their purchases with either a conventional, VA or FHA loan and have a good understanding of how they work; no sale is too big or too small for me to take on. My family and I relocated to England for 2 ½ years, this was a wonderful experience but at the same time, it was overwhelming. I have first hand knowledge of the challenges as well as the positives in discovering a new community. I was born and raised in Scarsdale and once married, my husband and I decided to raise our two daughters here. Both of our daughters successfully graduated from the Scarsdale schools and are both married, living and working in Manhattan. After living in the same house for 30 years my husband and I took the leap, sold our home and bought and renovated a condo townhouse in another town. Once again we are discovering a new community and fully understand the highs and lows of selling a home we loved and buying and making a new home. I feel that my personal real estate experiences have made me more in tune with my client’s needs and therefore better able to help them navigate through the complex process. Please call me so that I can put my knowledge and experience to work for you.
